I am so lucky to spend everyday with such a great group of kids! They are growing and learning soooo much! I have been testing numeracy and literacy this week and comparing it to the beginning of the year assessments. WOW, soooo much growth!
This week in Science we have been learning about animal habitats and the difference between wild and domesticated animals.
In Social Studies we are comparing the past and present. We have compared transportation, communication, schools and homes and now we are looking at toys and the ways kids played in the past. To day we built spinners and had fun playing with a toy from the past.
As writes we are building our writing stamina! Lots of tired little hands. We have been working to tell events by using sequence words such as first, next and finally. We also have been working hard on retelling story events by looking at the beginning, middle and end of a story.
In Math we have been looking for 2D shapes in our world and are playing with building blocks to introduce 3D shapes. Building towers has been a favourite activity!
As we begin our 3D shape study and Building Things unit in Science we will need recycled items sent in. We could use clean cans and paper towel roll. (No toilet paper tubes please.) Little bits of scrap wood could be helpful too! Thanks in advance!
